Listen: Moody Good (feat. Harleighblu) – “Living Off The High” [Premiere]
Moody Good continues to probe the dark corners of the spirit on a new song from his forthcoming LP, which we are specially premiering today on Best Fit.
“Living Off The High” opens with a dreamy harp line that beckons the listener to dive further into the murky depths. But this land of Oz is more HBO prison drama than flying monkeys and tin men. Pulsing bass washes over a gritty, simplistic beat as smoky vocals from Harleighblu weave a tale of getting “lit last night” and, presumably, every night hereafter.
The track is a sad soundtrack to a night spent drinking alone. That the yellow brick road leads only to the bottom of a bottle doesn’t make the journey any less enjoyable.
The theme of addiction continues in the brand new video for Best Fit favorite “Musicbx”. For those that like their comedy as they do their coffee—black and thought provoking—the visual narrative provides excellent accompaniment. Bizarre, clever, and, at times, disconcerting, the video traces a day in the life of a man chasing the caffeine dragon. His obsessive quest leaves him in the same place he started; like a music box, he is doomed to play the same song again and again.
