Eccentric collaged sounds collide on Brazilian producer Marcioz’s “The Very Very $hy Pearl”
Equal parts uncanny and soothing, “The Very Very $hy Pearl” is the latest look into the unconventional mind of 20-year-old Brazilian producer and artist Marcioz
The first cut from upcoming EP, How To Make Love $tay, the track is an eccentric assemblage of beats and samples, held together with a nursery rhyme piano line and the reassuring presence of soft drums and guitar. Despite this maximalist approach, the track has a lilting, gentle feel, radiating the feel of a lazy summer day.

Speaking on the track, Marcioz is characteristically unexpected: “The Very Very $hy Pearl” for me sounds exactly like how I sound walking,” he explains, “because I look very weird, but no one looks like and no one sounds like me, talking and music-wise. I like being shy, and I think that reflects in my music. That’s why I call it “The Very Very $hy Pearl”, because I think I’m a very rare person, and that’s why I think I like the music I make.”
