Andy Smith, better known by his alter ego Lxury, is a South London one-man production team who single handedly shook the airwaves last autumn with his debut single, “J.A.W.S”, and its b-side, “We Do”. The tracks, produced in conjunction with Disclosure, were an organic and perfect introduction to the British producer who followed up this year with the Kitsuné endorsed, “Never Love”.
Lxury is now set to release his debut Playground EP, and has unveiled its eponymous first single. The song will swallow you into a big, bright psychedelic cloud like the one depicted in the EP’s artwork. With a constant build up into a more highly energised, uplifting chords-led composition, the track will throw you into the new, bass-heavy future of house.
A tingling, crisp rhythm section counters the innocent vocal samples, creating beautiful vibes worth being the centre of this year’s summer jam.
Playground EP is released by Greco-Roman on 19 May.
