Unashamedly brash Glaswegians LUCIA vent their frustrations on "Blueheart"

Glaswegian four-piece LUCIA make enveloping indie-rock in the vein of The Big Moon or fellow Scots Honeyblood. New track "Blueheart" is a catchy, full-figured example.

Vocalist Lucia Fairfull gives the record a rich, classic sound above the track's energetic swell, her reverb-laden backing vocals a sweet contrast to the rowdy guitars of "Blueheart"'s chorus. The track's lyric is simple yet effective, bringing the listener round for a full-on singalong within a couple of listens. It's an unashamedly brash follow-up to last year's Cheap Talk EP (from which we loved single "Summertime"), and one that will doubtless net them yet more of a fan following.

Of the track, which was produced by Jim Abbiss (Arctic Monkeys, Adele) and mixed by Charlie Holmes and Mark "Spike" Stent (Beyoncé, Ed Sheeran, Muse, Arcade Fire, Florence, Lady Gaga), Fairfull explains that: "'Blueheart' is about the frustration you feel when someone close to you is trapped in a toxic relationship that they are too scared to let go of."

"Blueheart" is out now via Sweet Jane Recordings.
