Lowtide reveal blissfully satisfying shoegaze outing “Wedding Ring”
Following last summer’s release of their acclaimed “Julia/Spring” single, Lowtide have revealed the first taste of a forthcoming debut full-length due 5 August via new London label Opposite Number. And what a gorgeous taste it is.
Drenched in reverb, “Wedding Ring” drives along thanks to relentlessly pounding drum work and a chunky bass line that ebbs and flows towards the blissfully satisfying refrain.
The moody shoegaze hue is offset by this central emotional sentiment, which ensures the Melbourne quartet - Giles Simon, Lucy Buckeridge, Gabriel Lewis, Anton Jakovljevic - create something as dreamy as it is wholly forceful.
Premiering at Best Fit, “Wedding Ring” foreshadows a pretty special LP to come from Lowtide; get engaged below.
