Stream Cul-de-sac, the new EP from Bergen's dark electronic pop act Love Dance
Tomorrow sees the release of Cul-de-sac, the latest record from Norwegian duo Love Dance. And today you can stream it in full.
Kristopher Straus and Eirik Vestrheim have been releasing records with infuriating inconsistency for a decade, but this new EP makes it worth all the waiting. An '80s-tinged pop gem with clear Factory/Manchester influences, Love Dance keep it fresh by adding their own Bergen perspective. Which, given the amount of rain there is in west coast Norway, sort of makes gloomy sense.
"Ever since the release of Best of.. in 2012, we’ve felt reinvented with every release because we feel that we’ve been able to express the progression we’ve felt as a band," Love Dance tell us. "Cul-de-sac is in every way a prolonging of that. With this record we’ve wanted to make darker and more unpolished pop songs that still feels catchy and attractive."
