LA duo Rooms share message with second single “Cry Baby”.
The second track from LA two-piece Rooms is a soulful slow jam sees the pair dreamily question the meaning of love from within a failing relationship.
Releasing their first effort in April last year- the alt. pop and R&B crossover “Bittersweet Company" - was a sign of great things to come. "Cry Baby" opens with distorted strings that make way for harmonious vocals which quickly filter through the static.
Merging the warmth of their nostalgia tinged sound with autobiographical lyrics, “Cry Baby” loosely tells a story. “Tell me what’s been going?” and “is this what love is?” are the two main queries Rooms have. That story becomes crystal clear once you know the message that comes with the release: “I know you cheated on me at the Loews in Santa Monica.”
