Since “We Are The Prey”, Locke has been slowly unveiling more character and has this week graced the public with new track, “O Boy”.
The mysterious producer tries keeping everything slightly ambiguous, describing her gender as “Plural (neutral)” and on her ever so cryptic Tumblr page she writes “all that is masculine is feminine is masculine is feminine is masculine is feminine… no one is LOCKED”. So it’s no wonder that her latest release, “O Boy”, is another cryptic, atmospheric composition.
“O Boy” is an incredibly sparse affair, which focuses on dissonant beats, blood-curdling synths and samples. Once again, the track is lead by the vocals of a dystopian temptress; a dark, unsettling voice on which modulations and dark effects are applied, making it sound even more harrowing.
Coupled with artwork that features two neon-lit naked men embracing, the track just adds mystery to the musical maze that is Locke.
