Little Green Cars contrast bittersweet hooks with hopeful lyrics on "Easier Day"
Little Green Cars are sharing new track "Easier Day" on Best Fit ahead of their London show tomorrow.
The song features on the Dublin quintet's upcoming album Ephemera, and follows lead single "The Song They Play Every Night". It's co-produced by Little Green Cars with Rob Kirwan.
"It gets better, better, better..." booms the chorus, jarring against the hazy brew of bittersweet melodies and swampy textures, while the thumping canter of beats beneath add tension and pace. "Easier Day" is a sublime juxtaposition of determined lyrics and tormented instrumentation, and sees Little Green Cars at their most affecting.
Speaking about the track, vocalist/songwriter Faye O’Rourke says: “Despite how it sounds, 'Easier Day' is quite a hopeful song. It's just a reflection on a period where I was putting people through distress and coming out the other end”
Little Green Cars play a sold-out show at London's Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen tomorrow night. They've also announced a new date at the capital's Village Undergroun on 1 June.
Ephemera is out 11 March
