Yoofs are a band from Bournemouth who you should be able to guess the general sound aesthetic of by their very name and the fact that their last single (which was awesome, by the way) was called ‘Hazy Dayz’. Yep, they’re that kinda of noisy-surf-rock that we all love round here.
This new one, ‘Love At 140′, is a little less hazy than the first though; a little less drenched in distortion. Produced by Bos Angeles’ Rich, the guitars and drums are allowed to come the fore a bit and the track’s melody blossoms all the more because of it.
That said, the singer still sounds like he’s shouting for help from the bottom of the sea. In a good way, of course. In a brilliant way, in fact.
