Listen: Wonderful Humans - "Just What I Needed" [Premiere]
New York pop duo Wonderful Humans are sharing new single "Just What I Needed" for the first time on Best Fit.
The track channels the band's inner Mausi, with flickering funk-pop guitars and dance synths sidled alongside one of the hookiest choruses you'll come across this week. It was written and produced by NYC couple Brian Wesley Cag & Amanda Joyce Carl - the Wonderful Humans themselves.
Speaking about their new track, the pair said:
"Just What I Needed" is the first release from our upcoming debut EP, due early Spring... it's a tropical pop number that holds depth in regard to the uncertainty of what we want out of relationships. The reality of committing to another in today's social atmosphere can seem quite grim to the mid-20-something. The limitless expectations that come with the idea of adapting to a significant other can be frightening, yet we somehow manage to still see this glimmer of hope amidst the anxiety. "Just What I Needed" attempts to reconcile that glimmer of hope with its tropical keyboard lines, fused with the groovy guitar workings."
"Just What I Needed" is out today.
