With the single “Running”, the new Liverpool quintet known as VEYU have shown us early on that they are masters of melancholy.
“Running” is a moody dreampop treat for anyone who has ever wished they were elsewhere – and who hasn’t wished that at some point in time? Chris Beesley and Adam Bresnen’s plaintive vocals rise above a swirl of atmospheric guitar, crisp drums, and bright synths. The song sounds especially lush when piped through headphones; highlighting the strong sense of depth in the mix.
The track is taken from the band’s debut release later this spring. VEYU play The Fall Out Factory, Liverpool on 15 February.
