With ‘Walk On By’, twelve-piece Brisbane band Velociraptor force summer into view with the frantic first track from their forthcoming EP. The track rushes forth, giving you no choice other than to get on board with an insurmountable gust of positive energy. But who are they you ask?
Well, when Shane Parsons and Simon Ridley of DZ Deathrays decided they wanted to pursue a new project, instead of forming a conventional band, they decided to grab ten friends, including long-term cohort Jeremy Neale, and construct what is something of a party juggernaut.
With so many of them, they’ve done well to get a press shot together and they’ve already got a head start in terms of collecting the unofficial award for the best party at The Great Escape which they will be performing at on 18 May.
The self-titled cassette EP is available from 20 May via Heart Throb Records. Stream ‘Walk On by’ below.
