Listen: The Fresh & Onlys – Yes Or No [Best Fit UK Premiere]
Sometimes being tagged as a garage band early on can really do you an injustice, especially when your ambitions are greater than that. Sure, you can still imagine San Fran fourpiece The Fresh & Onlys playing this new track in a crammed downtown bar, but it struts with more of a psych-country swagger than you’re likely to find in any club other than bourbon-only establishments.
Bassist Shayde Sartain said of the song:
“It was meant to be an anthem, but I guess you could say it was more desperate—the overwhelming desire to please someone and then feeling as though you have failed and being confused by that.”
