Listen: Swim Deep – The Sea
As part of BBC Radio 1′s annual ‘Alternative DJ Take-over’, Huw Stephens stands in for Nick Grimshaw all this week for the Breakfast Show. In addition to revealing the five ‘Sound Of 2013′ artists, throughout the week Huw will also showcase a daily ‘Alternative Boyband’. Today, said (boy)band came in the shape of Birmingham revivalists Swim Deep and the premiere of their brand new single ‘The Sea’.
A breezy number that’s not too disimilar rhythmically to The Stone Roses’ ‘What The World Is Waiting For’, the single is the first material unearthed since the group signed to Sony imprint RCA back in August of last year. Slip into a pair of ill fitting baggy jeans and take a listen to the track below.
