Here’s as fitting a track as we can imagine, given how cocking miserable it is outside. Story Books hail from the Isle of Sheppey, off the coast of Kent – surely the only island connected to the mainland by an A road. ‘All Those Arrows’, their debut single, is a distinctly British track that takes as its template some of the mid-’00s more ubiquitous guitar music – but with an utterly beautiful, bracingly panoramic chorus.
‘All Those Arrows’ is out now. The band play Hoxton Hall this Thursday.
