Listen: Slow No Wake – Everyone Needs Someone
Nine months after uploading his first batch of demos – to a decidedly tepid response – Ohio native Adam Theron-Lee Rensch aka Slow No Wake has returned, galvanized, with a psych-infused hat-tip to Youth Lagoon entitled ‘Everyone Needs Someone’.
Skeletal drum patterns and softly insistent slide guitar sequences open valves in the melody, welcoming in orchestral keys and Rensch’s feather-light woah-oh’s and ahh’s. Elongated to the point of passivity, Slow No Wake’s dripfeed of reverb-laced guitars and pinwheeling samplers may trot a little to closely to Trevor Powers’ signature psych-pop sound but you’ll hear no complaints from us, so long as the standard remains this high.
