Listen: Sia - "Chandelier (STAL remix)" [Premiere]
Former M83 live band member Pierre-Marie Maulini - AKA STAL - is also an up-and-coming French electro-pop artist/producer, and though a respected purveyor of original wares (Sony have just lapped him up), he's a dab hand at remixes too. We've got the exclusive reveal of his rework of one of the year's finest pop tunes, "Chandelier" by Australia's Sia.
Speaking about the remix, STAL says:
“I got the opportunity to do this remix thanks to my new label (Arista France). Even though I come from the indie scene (A Red Season Shade, M83...), I find that it’s the more cinematic side of my music that seems to work well with female singers for some reason. I already had the opportunity to write and produce songs for VV Brown last year and to remix Laura Mvula and Tinashe. It's really something I grew to like doing and obviously Sia's "Chandelier" is a hell of a track! It's an exciting challenge to create your own version of a track that is so famous already!”
