Loathing Valentine’s Day due to a recent break up? Then this is the track for you: “Touch”, from up-and-coming English/Russian artist, Shura.
Shura already knows how to impress on this solo debut. Her voice has a mature, sultry sound. As with most first singles, the beat and melody are both catchy, but the track itself is not pop song cliché. Not to mention the great use of interwoven synthesizer throughout the track and cutting lyricism: “I can’t believe that it’s been three years/Now when I see you it’s so bittersweet”.
After penning early demos at university in London (and formerly belonging to trip-hop duo Hiatus & Shura), Shura has decided to venture out on her own. We see a bright future ahead.
