Brighton’s Salt Ashes has found the dark heart of disco with a voice to match on her debut effort, “Somebody”.
Scintillating synths stab throughout, coating the song in a gloomy veneer that gives the track its heart beat. Four to the floor rhythms keep the track grounded, whilst the track is lifted from the great to the sublime via Veiga Sanchez’s breathy, soaring vocals.
“Somebody” is certainly destined for party playlists when it’s released via Night Beach on 17 February.
