There’s something nostalgic emanating from the very first notes of this, the title-track of RxGibbs’ forthcoming album due in April.
The Michigan-born producer meshes shimmering guitar lines with an old school breakbeat you’d hear at a warehouse rave for ‘music intellectuals’, rather than those designed for ‘partyin’ and bulls**t’.
As each element dissolves in and out of one another amid echoes and luscious synths it’s easy to find yourself transported, happily, back a couple of decades.
‘Contact’ is out on 2 April via Cascine.
