Listen: Rob Bravery - "Me, Myself and the Scurvy Knave" [Premiere]
Rob Bravery is premiering his astounding new track "Me, Myself and the Scurvy Knave" now on Best Fit.
A tender, low-slung ballad with echoing keys and chilling harmonies, the track is a classic-sounding track brittle with emotion and grave croons; while not resolutely upbeat, there's a triumphant streak to be mined that mean's Bravery's latest output isn't quite so raw-nerve.
Speaking about the track and video, Bravery said:
"I'm pretty sure 'Me, Myself and the Scurvy Knave' was the first track I wrote for 'Esque'. It was intended to be a complete departure from anything I'd written/recorded prior - both stylistically and in terms of it's lyrics/mood. Whether I achieved that (on this song, or any of the tracks on the album) is questionable, but it's probably fair to say there was more innocence and calamity in my earlier music. An innocence ever lost, like my hapless virginity. The video is a re cut of the beautiful 'Hedgehog in the Fog' by Yuriy Norshteyn."
"Me, Myself and the Scurvy Knave" is released 20 April; Esque, Bravery's upcoming debut LP, is due in the summer.
