Listen: Quasimoto – Planned Attack
This summer Madlib’s alter-ego Quasimoto will be back with an album of unreleased rarities and lost gems called Yessir Whatever.
The last Lord Quas LP was released in 2005 and while this forthcoming release is something of a compilation and new in the oldest sense of the word, it’s a welcome return. As a salivating reminder of the cartoon weirdo’s left-field genius, here’s one of those cuts ‘Planned Attack’.
Production is on point as you’d expect from Madlib and with samples inserted from Busta Rhymes, Big Daddy Kane and Jeru The Damaja classics in the mix, it’s a wonder we haven’t heard this before.
The LP comes out via Stones Throw on 18 June with a peel-off cover sticker revealing Quasimoto’s guts.
