Listen: Personal Trainers - "Show Me Love" [Premiere]
New pop entity Personal Trainers are streaming their debut single "Show Me Love" exclusively via Best Fit ahead of its release 28 January.
"Show Me Love" is a gorgeous amalgam of slick '80s pop shades, doused in a blizzard of echoes, and sultry funk strings. Basslines strut and axes flutter, and although there's a sombre note in the vocals, the track's immensely poppy, and will have you swaying in no time.
Speaking about both the track and the project as a whole, Personal Trainers said:
"Personal Trainers came to us in a flash. But in reality it was one of those things that been talked about a long time. Personal Trainers have a lot to take care of. People that depend on them for health and good spirits. But some days the stars are aligned and miracles happen. Our two friends met in the studio, made a beat, jammed, went for lunch, wrote a melody and lyrics and recorded vocals and parted ways. All in one day. It was such an uplifting experience that finishing the first song and writing another one went very smooth. There's no grand plan for this activity. But we all know muscles need rest to gain strength. "Show Me Love" is something rare and pure. A song that doesn't even need to be delfined. It's just here. With vocal harmonies that seem to be taken from a natural Swedish spring. A mental spa for the romantics."
The single will be released tomorrow (28 January) via Sweden's Hybris.
