PMR Records‘ latest signing, Dornik, dropped his debut track, ‘Something About You‘ a few weeks back with the internet – to put it bluntly – losing its shit pronto. We can’t help but wonder whether hot Mancunian producer, Oceaán , secretly regrets not dropping his new track, ‘Neéd U’, ahead of the former Jessie Ware sticksman’s sudden arrival and subsequent adoration.
Kicking on from the murky 3am bass vibing of 2012′s appropriately named ‘Haze’, ‘Neéd U’ finds Oceaán in a rather more focused frame of mind. Idyllic shape-shifting synth lines and sultry hand percussion coalesce, capturing notes of that essential, nostalgic garage sound spliced with contemporary RnB, courtesy of the delicately soulful vocal tones. This guy has potential.
