Listen: Lil Silva – Salient Sarah ft. Sampha

Dan Carson
Punctuated by Sampha’s now idiosyncratic smoothie vocals, Bedford producer Lil Silva’s latest track carries the hallmarks of a club hit-in-the-making.
A lurching, lolloping beat drives this third cut from The Distance EP, but it’s Sisay’s inviting croon which provides the super-slick sheen to Silva’s energetic modern techno cum exotic funk production touches. We all know Sampha’s rich tones would sound amazing spooled over two alley cats fighting and fucking, but good God this man suits bass-heavy tunes like strawberries compliment cream.
The Distance is out now on Good Years.
