Listen: Laura Mvula – Green Garden (SOHN Remix)

Laura Mvula was planted firmly into the mainstream conscious thanks to her BRITs Critics’ Choice shortlisting and BBC Sound of 2013 nomination but SOHN, the man behind this blissfully chilled out remix of her track ‘Green Garden’ remains somewhat of an enigma.

The Vienna-based musician taps into Mvula’s exotic tones, filtering them through glistening prisms of Eastern influenced production, bathing every carefully arranged note in a sensitive twilight of languid synth strings and subtle breaks. It is testament to both of these hotly tipped upstarts’ mercurial promise that both emerge from the risky contortion of one another’s work not only with reputations unscathed but greatly enhanced.
