Manchester is certainly set out to prove once again why they’re always at the forefront of every generation’s main musical movement, what with the recent emergence of PINS and Brown Brogues = just to name a few. Signed to the former’s own label and working as a vanity project for Mark Vernon of the latter band, ‘King DJ has just released a debut double A-side cassette. Clearly indebted to Manc predecessors The Fall, Joy Division and even John Cooper Clarke, these pair of tracks are like a howling drunk you see floundering about at 3am, who somehow, somehow, still manages to stay standing long enough to get another drink.
