Listen: Kim Baxter – Intelligent Lovers
You would be forgiven if you missed this one first time round, we know we did. But the debut LP from this here Portland-based musician Kim Baxter dropped on April 1, and we were all too busy avoiding any hyperlinks we were being sent, just in case we were tricked, fooled or Rick-rolled.
But here we bring you something we stumbled upon just today, the brilliant opening track of the aforementioned solo album from the former All Girl Summer Fun Band member and The Thermals associate. ‘Intelligent Lovers’ is like the best ingredients of Rilo Kiley, Best Coast and the like all rolled into one big ol’ Swiss roll. Or any equally-twee but very much delicious bratty party food, for that matter.
