Listen: Kelly Lee Owens - "Lucid"
Former Daniel Avery collaborator Kelly Lee Owens goes it alone, debuting "Lucid" - the first song lifted from recording sessions with Phantasy Sound's Ghost Culture.
Owens' fragile-like vocal showed up throughout three songs on Avery's much heralded debut Drone Logic, and whilst she shared a co-writing credit on album track "Knowing We'll Be Here", "Lucid" is Kelly's first offical foray into the solo world.
It's an interestingly understated debut, too. Owens' breathy voice sits gently over a bed of ghostly production - augmented throughout with gentle nuances that clatter in the distance, constatntly massaging the senses.
