Helmed by an individual called J.R.C, and with no location given or online presence of note, Jr. Sea might have struggled to make an impression if not for this rather splendid first track, titled ‘Out Of Body Auto-Reply’.
Jr. Sea takes a dash of Real Estate’s breezy guitar-led pop, with an added spritz of lilting Afrobeat percussion lifted from Vampire Weekend’s beloved debut LP and hands it to madcap genius producer, Tarek Musa – of Spring King renown – to shake up to his heart’s content. The resulting crisp, coastal gem is this month’s most effervescent debut.
