Manchester based chanteuse Jade Parker unveiled her new two-track EP last night. Comprised of the deep house tinged ‘Maintain’ and the wonderfully calming, ‘Together’, the tracks were produced in collaboration with fellow Mancunian Synkro.
Parker disappeared off our radar following 2012 debut ‘Tonight’ but she’s reaping the benefits of her short hiatus, there’s a tangible sense of self-assurance and purpose instilled in these tracks. Lead track ‘Together’ is permeated by Synkro’s simmering waves of synth, layers of prickly handclaps and aqueous bass throbs; each meshing beautifully with the distantly echoing vocal loops.
That said,’Together’ truly peaks when Parker’s caramel tones occasionally come into focus; tantalizing and fresh, she’s got the sort of sweet subtle coo that would thrive atop any modern beat. Jade feels destined to form the link between the soulful R&B of Jessie Ware and AlunaGeorge’s garage infused pop.
