Listen: How To Dress Well – Suicide Dream 3 (Orchestral Version)
How To Dress Well landed in our laps, or more appropriately on our laptops, last year seemingly out of nowhere. Shrouded under a veil of mystery, an early series of EPs arrogantly flaunted lo-fi chillwave with a dark and brooding overlay. Then Love Remains, the artist’s first LP, was released by Lefse and showed its creator to be more than just a bedroom producer. The album flashed sparks of RnB brilliance and showed a multifaceted demeanour to a musician slowly coming out of the shadows and stepping self-assuredly into the limelight.
And now we have this: a new track taken from a forthcoming EP meant as a elegiac tribute to the death of a close friend. The track displays a stripped-down version of HTDW’s sound, surrounded not by serene electronics but orchestral majestics.
You can also catch a video interview with Tom Krell, the man behind the moniker, on the formation of his new Just Once EP. The record is scheduled for a 12 July release and can be pre-ordered here.
