Belgian multi-instrumentalists Rozanne Descheemaeker and Ruben Lefever have been performing under the Float Fall moniker for some time, today marks a milestone in the duo’s burgeoning career, the release of their debut single, ‘Someday’.
Plinking piano notes, teasing electronic flourishes and gentle whispers introduce us to Float Fall’s world of secretive dream-pop. We’re treated to an unexpected bloom of crunching guitar and coruscating idiophone at the two minute mark; a change in gear which helps elevate ‘Someday’ above accusations of flagrant xxism. Minimalist clandestine duets have become synonymous with Romy and Oliver; though competition at the top just got that little bit healthier.
