Listen: Elephant – Golden [Best Fit Premiere]
We’ve long been wooed by South-of-the-Thames duo Elephant round these parts ever since they dropped a couple of 7″ last year along with their wonderful debut EP. These releases largely cease to be in physicality nowadays, having sadly been lost in the PIAS fire that occurred during the London riots.
This would come as a dampener to any band starting up, but this electronic twopiece haven’t let it stand in their way. Instead of coming back all angsty or falling apart altogether, Elephant seem at total peace in this new track. ‘Golden’ sees the band at their most tranquil, an absolute soother of trickling piano keys and Amelia Rivas’ longing coos.
