Laced with xylophone and with typical rhythmic intricacy, Dutch Uncles unleash their acoustic take on ‘GodBoy’. It is an accomplished version from the new wave quintet with all their hallmarks in place, an unmistakable vocal and quite perfect production.

The track wastes no time, flying off the mark and straight into its layers of strings, reverberating tuned percussion and intelligent, crisp snare hits, before the aforementioned falsetto weaves a journey above it all. A mention of “spring” is entirely apt, as the whole ambiance of the stripped back version feels fresh, clear and excitable.
