The as yet unidentified Swedish trio DNKL have unveiled their debut track “Hunt” and as debut tracks go, it’s as enticing as they come.
Utterly intoxicating and just a little bit unnerving, its crackling electronics are soon accompanied by haunting vocals that glide like smoke over brooding noir pop synths while the ghost of 80s electro lingers just behind its darkly seductive beats. There is a certain sorrow hidden beneath its smooth surface and percussion glitches too. See, enticing right?
The fact that there really doesn’t seem to be any information about them out there anywhere just adds to the intrigue. We can only hope any follow through is as perfect as this.
