Joining Blaenavon and Sundara Karma on our list of precociously talented indie pop kids are Crouch End quartet Casablanca.
Pals of everyone from Florence to Swim Deep, the boys recently packed out The Social on the back of debut track, ‘Hurricane Season’s Radio 1 airplay, now they’re at it again with follow-up, ‘We Could Forever’.
Splicing the pogoing instrumentals of Theme Park with the spiralling, tangled guitar hooks of fellow Crouch Enders Bombay Bicycle Club – both bands formed at rehearsal spaces in the same street – ’We Could Forever’ peaks with a chorus of the purest pop calibre, all spluttering synthesizer and gushing vocals. Rousing stuff.
