Paris collective Bloum are formed of two producers (Paul and Leo) and two visual artists (Marie and Glen) whose interests and influences range from Burial to Nicolas Jaar.
So it’s hardly surprising that a group who set out with the primary aim “to combine” are creating dazzlingly skittish new wave and electro pop tunes like new cut ‘On The Moon’. Translucent vocals gather like condensation over a simmering melody of thudding bass blots, churning arpeggiated synthesizers and pitched-up pianos, equatorial in its sticky rhythm but icy in vocal tone; a mesmerizing, trippy droplet of mellowed-out Parisienne pop with a stiff acid house backbone.
