Promising newcomer Billie Black follows on from her sophisticated soul sound of “I Don’t Need Another Lover” with a new collaboration with rising producer Mura Masa, the seductively catchy “This Simple Pleasure”.
Sounding quite unlike anything the two young acts have mustered independently, it’s a pairing that fits incredibly well. Black’s vocal sounding impeccable over Mura Masa’s bubbling production. Let’s hope it’s not a one off encounter.
Billie Black plays London’s Notting Hill Arts Club tonight (September 4). Tickets are available on the door priced at £5. Details here.
