Sei A is enjoying something of a purple patch. Between his excellent 12″ on Kompakt Extra, a contribution to Turbo’s New Jack compilation, and a beautiful house EP on Will Saul’s Simple, the Scottish producer must seldom have slept.
His latest release is a deep, doom-laden rework of Big Black Delta’s charmingly titled ‘Ifuckingloveyou’. In the producer’s hands the laughably histrionic original becomes a Knife-in-Berghain swirl, all metallic percussion and down-pitched vocals.
