Listen: Barbarossa – The Load [Best Fit Premiere]
Dark and brooding but with the melody of a pop track on the right side of mainstream, Memphis Industries’ Barbarossa has emerged with something inspiring.
Befitting for a day when the lonely need a pick-me-up, ‘The Load’ trudges along a seemingly hopeless avenue before the gentle but entirely uplifting chorus clenches a fist and shakes it adversity. Everything about the track screams inspirational movie montage; the bravery of its slow pace, deep seductive organ and chillingly repetitive synth line all provide stirring ingredients. It’s a brilliant track from an exciting UK prospect, who plays Dalston’s Birthdays tonight before supporting POLIÇA and Junip in the coming months. Feeling a little down? Get inspired below.
