Alex G has shared a brand new track called "Soaker", presumably from his DSU sessions.
Careening away from the falsetto-based pop that was rife on his kind-of-but-not-really debut, G hollows out a crevice near the realms of rock. It's only a brief sliver of new noise - less than two minutes - but G still displays his ability to shake your emotional foundation as he sings of a vexing relationship: "I'm like water and you're like glue/all I ever do is soak through you...". The epic post-folk harmonies that appear in the chorus are simply gorgeous, and they add a depth that might have otherwise escaped the knotted guitar fuzz.
