LIFE announce debut album, share "In Your Hands"
Hull punks LIFE are pissed off and switched on with the brand new single from their debut album Popular Music.
An anthem of discontent and self-empowerment presented in characteristic punk style, "In Your Hands" is as rousing as it is rambunctious. Guitar lines squall and ricochet, with stomp-a-long rhythms surging forwards with a ceaseless momentum.
A tongue-in-cheek commentary run rampant, equal parts determination and distortion, the single blazes the with a freewheeling energy LIFE are synonymous with.
"Popular Music sounds like panic and anxiety," Mez Sanders-Green says of the record. "It's the sound of shitting it about whatever happens next week, about what you can weigh through on the self-checkout to get your beans cheaper. It's an LP made up of the psyche of everyone who can see they're getting fucked and there's a lot of people getting fucked right now.”
