Californian R&B singer Lenis gets introspective on “Until the Day Of”
After charming with her sassy and energetic debut single “Told Him” earlier this year, Korean-American R&B singer Lenis is back with sultry slow jam “Until the Day Of".
A mid-tempo lament to the struggles of parting ways with someone you love, the track is the San Diego native’s first collaboration with producer DTB, a fellow Californian who has previously worked with the likes of Kehlani.

Skittering beats, sparse bass and sampled vocals are a soft bed for Lenis’ soothing vocals, making assurances that, “I’m certain it’ll all be alright/I feel a slight difference but unchanged.” The tone is hopeful, but Lenis’ relationship to the song’s subject is ambiguous, and purposefully so: “Maybe this song will help people in long distance relationships, or even best friends who will go their separate ways after college.” she explains. “I hope it helps keep them positive and stay hopeful, that maybe one day it will all have been worth the wait.”
