Ladybyrd unveils second single "Stolen Sunlight"
18-year-old singer/songwriter Ladybyrd has followed up her May debut single "Too Close To Call" with her second outing "Stolen Sunlight".
After delivering her debut release "Too Close To Call" in May, Ladybyrd has shared a second single titled "Stolen Sunlight", which, in her own words, "captures the turbulent emotions of losing something that was special - or that you thought was special."
Ladybyrd continues, "It's about a love you now know was flawed and untrue, with all passion and hope just a memory. I drew inspiration for this song from many relationships I've witnessed, or been in myself. Whether romantic or platonic, when you realise that your love towards that person was never truly reciprocated, it stings."
Ladybyrd's artist name comes from a family nickname that her late grandfather gave to her mum, who then handed it down to her, and the spelling of "byrd" is a reference to composer William Byrd.
Both of Ladybyrd's singles are due to feature on her upcoming debut EP, which is expected to arrive in autumn.
