Tel Aviv’s Kim In The Sun share impressive debut single “Humor”
An art pop project of epic proportions, Kim In The Sun are in the business of creating post-love anthems.
Rich and diverse, Tel Aviv’s modern music scene has been the envy of the region since the early 1980s. Despite its modest size and lack of cash injection, the underground creative community has flourished, becoming synonymous with the liberal 24-hour culture of the city. Kim In The Sun is a product of this way of life, made crystal clear on their electrifying debut “Humor”.
“Humor” can only be described as a marvel of sonics. A tightly produced ethereal dreamscape orchestrated by band member Oral Tamuz creates the perfect environment for other half Mika Sade’s supernal vocals to shine. The highlight by far is the introduction of Arabic-style syncopated rhythm adding another layer of flavour to an already superb debut.
In their own words: “People often feel that love is something they have to hold on to and never let go. “Humour” talks about the moment of epiphany, that its actually quite the contrary, and to truly love is to let go”
