Listen: Justin Nozuka – “Iulius” [Premiere]
Ahead of the release of his new album Ulysees on Monday, we have the exclusive first-play of “Iulius” by Canadian singer-songwriter, Justin Nozuka.
The track marks a departure from Nozuka’s earlier work (namely the acoustic-pop of his debut Holly), this time seeing the songwriter double-up producer and strip all musical components to their core.
Small celestial swells, quietly chiming guitars and simmering group humming make slow progression on this understated track, but that’s of course its simple beauty. Here, Nozuka’s thick, syrupy vocal is commander and conqueror, pulling the elements forward over “Iulius”‘ gorgeous five minute journey.
Ulysees is out on Monday via Glassnote Records and lead single, “Right By You”, is available now.
