Jordana returns with snappy, smart indie-rock on new single “I’ll Take It Boring”
Kansas musician Jordana has released an anthem for introverts everywhere with “I’ll Take It Boring”.
Wichita-based Jordana has been working away for a few years, but bubbled to the surface with the lo-fi surf-rock joyride of her single “Crunch” and the re-release (she put it out first herself last year) of her debut album Classical Notions Of Happiness on NYC independent label Grand Jury.
The good news is that she’s already back with new music. “I’ll Take It Boring” is a song that could've slotted in on Classical Notions…, but also develops her sound a little further. It’s a little slicker, quicker and cleaner, with nimble guitar work making it light-footed, breezy and sharp indie rock - with a bit of spacy synth and production sheen (she’s teamed up here with MERV, who also worked on “Crunch”).
The elements that makes her new track stand out are the same things that made her album distinct – her knack for telling and bringing the listener inside a story, and the warm, shining glow of her melodies. Jordana says “I’ll Take It Boring” is “a song about my experience at a Halloween party which I regretted attending. It’s a song for all the introverts out there, for all the people who feel like blowing off their weekend plans and staying home.”
