Opening up with a tangled guitar line, scrawled like messy ballpoint pen doodling all over your work desk; JAN’s ‘Some Bite, Some Bitten’ is classic ‘breaking out’ music.
Come the end of this scuzzy three and a half minute romp you’ll be ready to escape from the 9-5 routine, flee from your paling living room walls and end your suffocating friendships, all because of Kim Talon’s scratchy Karen O-recalling sirensong and those swarming, waspish hi-hats.
Taken from her self-titled LP, due out on 1 July via Enclaves Music, ‘Some Bite, Some Bitten’ is another teeth-gnashing, riot grrrl-nodding taster of what’s to come from the Brooklyn songstress.
